Re:action

Re:action is a website and installation which uses screen based contemporary dance to infuse new media art with the qualities of performance. As the audience journeys through the website their actions directly affect both the website and installation, by collectively determining the editing of a dance film and sound collage. The dance was devised and filmed at Spike Island in August 2003 and the installation and website were previewed during a residency at the Watershed in November 2003 and were premiered at the Hotbath Gallery in May 2004.

Re:action was a collaboration with Ed Holroyd, Sara Strickland and Chris Kemp and was supported by Arts Council England, South West; the Watershed; Audience; Bowers & Wilkins; Spike Island; and Statement Media Arts.
